Welcome to Helping Hands, a service provided by Settlement Services Australia that connects volunteers with Palestinians who have fled from Gaza and have arrived in Australia. By using our service, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you must not use our service.
2. Service Description
Helping Hands facilitates the connection between volunteers who offer services and Palestinians seeking assistance in Australia. Volunteers submit their service offerings, and help requesters can search for and request these services. All interactions and subsequent arrangements are made directly between the volunteers and the help requesters.
3. User Roles
Volunteers: Individuals who offer their services by providing their full name, email, phone number, and categories of services.
Help Requesters: Palestinians who have fled from Gaza and are seeking assistance in Australia, searching for volunteers and submitting help requests with their full name, email, phone number, and a description of their needs.
Administrators: Individuals who manage the platform and oversee operations.
4. Usage Terms
For Volunteers:
- You must provide accurate and complete information when submitting your details.
- You agree to be contacted by help requesters directly via the information you provided when they request your services.
- You are responsible for verifying that help requesters are Palestinians who have fled from Gaza and are currently in Australia.
- You are solely responsible for determining whether and how to provide the requested help.
For Help Requesters:
- You must be a Palestinian who has fled from Gaza and is currently residing in Australia to use this service.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when submitting a help request.
- You agree to have your contact information shared with the selected volunteer upon submitting a help request.
- You are solely responsible for coordinating and managing the assistance you receive from the volunteer.
5. Privacy and Data Protection
- Your contact details will not be publicly displayed on the platform.
- Volunteers’ contact information will only be shared with help requesters upon a specific help request submission.
- Help requesters’ contact information will be shared with volunteers only for the purpose of facilitating the requested assistance.
- Settlement Services Australia will not use your personal information for any purposes other than those necessary to provide and improve the Helping Hands service.
6. Disclaimer
- We do not conduct background checks on volunteers or help requesters. Use of the Helping Hands service is at your own risk.
- We do not guarantee the availability, suitability, or reliability of any volunteers or the services they offer.
- Settlement Services Australia is not responsible for any interactions, agreements, or disputes between volunteers and help requesters.
7. Limitation of Liability
- The Helping Hands platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the service.
- Settlement Services Australia is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Helping Hands service.
8. User Conduct
- You agree to use the Helping Hands service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use of the service.
- You must not use the service to transmit any harmful or illegal content.
9. Termination
- Settlement Services Australia reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Helping Hands service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including violation of these terms and conditions.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
